On the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day, Enugu former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Dr. Surv. Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, has paid tribute to Nigerian workers, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the nation’s development.


Dr. Nnam expressed his gratitude to workers across various sectors for their dedication, resilience, and hard work, especially in the face of challenges and adversities.

In a statement on Wednesday, the former land’s commissioner emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating the efforts of workers, stating that they are the backbone of the country’s economy and society.


He applauded President Tinubu led administration for its commitment to duty and highlighted the significant role he is playing in driving progress and prosperity.

Dr. Nnam called on governments at all levels to prioritize the welfare and well-being of workers by ensuring fair wages, decent working conditions, and access to essential benefits such as healthcare and education.

He called for policies that promote labor rights and create opportunities for career advancement and professional development.


Nnam who also extended his condolences to the families of workers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledged the sacrifices made by these individuals in service to their country.
