In response to the tragic killing of two police officers in Enugu on Saturday, Governor Peter Mbah has pledged decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators.

Addressing reporters, Governor Mbah emphasized that such acts of violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated in the state.

Governor Mbah declared, “the senseless violence against our police officers in Enugu is unacceptable. Those responsible may believe they have succeeded in their heinous deed, but they will face the full force of the law. We will utilize all available resources and technology to track down, capture, and defeat these criminals.”

He assured the public that Enugu State, in collaboration with security agencies, will make life difficult for those who threaten the peace and security of the community.

The incident occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation along Presidential Road in Enugu, where the officers were ambushed by armed assailants traveling in three SUVs.

Police spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the attack and stated that Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, has ordered the deployment of operational, tactical, and intelligence resources to bring the culprits to justice.

The state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens and the swift pursuit of justice underscores its dedication to maintaining law and order in Enugu.
