Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly informed Napoli of his desire to leave the club, setting his sights on a return to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Sources close to the player confirm that Osimhen has given a firm “YES” to Galatasaray, expressing a strong preference to continue his career with the Istanbul-based club.
Despite persistent efforts by Napoli to convince him to stay, the Nigerian striker appears resolute in his decision.
According to sports journalist Buchi Laba, Napoli have been “pleading with Victor Osimhen to stay” for weeks, but the player “has made it very very clear that he wants to leave.”
His firm stance marks a likely end to his time at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli are now underway, focusing on the activation and payment terms of Osimhen’s release clause.
The Turkish giants are optimistic about sealing the deal and bringing back the prolific goal-scorer, who previously had a successful spell with the club and is said to be enthusiastic about rejoining the team.
As talks continue, Galatasaray fans will be hopeful that their club can finalize the transfer and reunite with one of the continent’s top strikers.
