The Ofoelue family of Ezi Nde Ukpabi, Ugbo Village, Arochukwu, has announced the passing of veteran journalist, Thankgod Ofoelue, who died on Monday evening, February 23, 2026, after a brief illness. He was 48.

Ofoelue, popularly known as Jungle Journalist, was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jungle Journalist Media Limited. Over the years, he built a reputation for fearless reporting and unwavering commitment to ethical journalism.

He also previously worked with The Sun Newspaper, where he began his professional career and honed his skills in news reporting and analysis.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mazi Obozuluike Ofoelue described his late brother as a man of courage, vision and dedication whose death has left an irreplaceable void.

“We are devastated by the loss of my younger brother — a man of courage, vision and dedication. His absence leaves a painful void in our hearts and in the media community he so passionately served,” he said.

Colleagues and associates have described the late journalist as a professional of integrity and passion, noted for his bold voice and steadfast commitment to truth.

The family said burial arrangements would be announced in due course, praying that his soul finds eternal rest.
