Dangote Refinery has officially launched its export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to Cameroon.
This milestone achievement was made possible through a strategic partnership with Neptune Oil, a leading energy company in Cameroon, marking the first-ever PMS export from Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest oil refinery, to the country.
The collaboration between the two companies highlights their shared goal of boosting economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon, while addressing the region’s increasing energy demands.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group, emphasized that this export is a tangible representation of his vision for a united, energy-independent Africa.
“With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people,” Dangote remarked.
Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, stated that the partnership represents a pivotal moment for Cameroon.
“By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are enhancing our country’s energy security and promoting local economic growth,” he explained.
Ndzengue also highlighted that the direct supply of PMS without international intermediaries reinforces their commitment to independent and efficient market service.
Both companies have stated that this collaboration is just the beginning.
They are working on further initiatives to create a stable supply chain, reduce fuel price volatility, and foster new economic opportunities across the region.
