As workers across Nigeria mark the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the member representing Isiuzo State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Gabriel Eze, has commended Governor Peter Mbah for his unwavering commitment to the welfare and development of workers in the state.
In a statement made available to DAILY GAZETTE on Thursday, Hon. Eze hailed the governor’s numerous reforms and people-oriented policies that have significantly improved the conditions of civil servants and enhanced productivity across the public sector.
He noted that under Governor Mbah’s leadership, Enugu workers have enjoyed prompt payment of salaries, improved working conditions, and access to training and retraining programs aimed at building capacity and ensuring efficient service delivery.
“Today, I join millions of Nigerians to celebrate our hardworking men and women whose sacrifices, dedication, and resilience have continued to power the engine of progress in Enugu State and across the country.”
“This year’s Workers’ Day is particularly symbolic for us in Enugu because we have a governor who not only listens but acts promptly on matters affecting workers,” Eze said.
He lauded the recent clearance of outstanding gratuities and pensions for retirees, as well as the administration’s investment in digital infrastructure and human capital development.
“Governor Mbah has proven that good governance is possible when leaders prioritize the people. His vision for a productive and technology-driven civil service is already yielding positive results, and we are proud of the strides made so far,” he added.
While assuring his constituents of continued representation that aligns with their aspirations, Hon. Eze urged workers to remain steadfast, innovative, and united in contributing to the transformation of Enugu State.
