Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has publicly denied allegations linking him to a violent incident that reportedly disrupted the inauguration of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership in Abuja.
The President of NANS, Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, had accused Seyi Tinubu of orchestrating an attack during the ceremony at the Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro.
According to Isah, individuals allegedly loyal to Tinubu invaded the venue armed with cutlasses and firearms.
The attack, he claimed, left several attendees injured, valuables looted, and forced dignitaries such as Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and former Governor Idris Wada to flee for safety.
Describing the incident as politically motivated, Isah also alleged it was connected to a bribe attempt meant to stifle his leadership.
In response, Seyi Tinubu took to Instagram to issue a firm denial, dismissing the allegations as completely unfounded.
“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world,” he stated.
“I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs. All these allegations by Atiku Isah are completely fictional.”
He added with disbelief: “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? Wow, wow… an attempt to defame any character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”
As at the time of this report, no official complaint has been lodged with law enforcement agencies.
