Three police officers have reportedly lost their lives following a deadly ambush by suspected herdsmen in Udei, a community located in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to local sources, the officers were attacked without warning, and their service rifles were taken by the assailants after the killings.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but the incident has sparked fear and anxiety among residents of the community.

“The policemen were ambushed,” a source from the area disclosed, suggesting the attackers may have been lying in wait.
