Three students of an Islamic school in Kano State have been arraigned before a Magistrate Court for the alleged murder of their teacher, whom they reportedly killed and mutilated.

The accused, Inuwa Muhammad, Abba Rabi’u, and Yahaya Rabi’u, were brought before the court on charges of criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of a weapon, and culpable homicide.

During the court proceedings, the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Maryam Halilu Dantiye, told the court that the students conspired to falsely accuse their teacher, identified as Malam Isyaku, of being a kidnapper.

The prosecution further alleged that the suspects lured the teacher into a nearby bush, where they attacked him with a locally-made gun.

After killing him, they reportedly removed one of his eyes and his genital organs.

The magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded in a correctional facility until October 14, when the case will continue.
