In a statement made available to DAILY GAZETTE on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed that the raid targeted a “notorious container shop” known for the sale of illicit drugs.
The suspect, identified as Elias Ukachukwu Agu (male, 43), reportedly confessed during interrogation to being involved in the distribution of illicit substances.
Items recovered include Fourteen (14) cups and twenty-five (25) sachets of suspected Canadian Loud, Six (6) sachets of suspected Colorado (commonly referred to as Colos), One (1) weed crusher and Two (2) packets of Rizla (rolling paper).
Both “Loud” and “Colos” are high-grade cannabis variants, widely abused among youths.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, CP Giwa has issued a warning to the public, particularly young people, against involvement in the sale, purchase, or use of illicit drugs.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling crime in all its forms and called for continued public support and cooperation in maintaining safety across Enugu State.
