The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to conduct a mock accreditation exercise in Anambra State on Saturday, October 25, ahead of the upcoming November governorship election.

According to the commission, the exercise is designed to test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and evaluate the efficiency of result uploads to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

The mock exercise will take place in selected polling units across the following local government areas: Awka South, Idemili North, Oyi, Anambra East, Aguata, and Orumba North.

“The mock accreditation will allow INEC to assess the BVAS response time and functionality, especially in uploading results to the IReV portal,” the commission stated.

INEC is urging voters in the affected areas to participate in the mock exercise, noting that their involvement will help the commission identify and resolve any technical or logistical issues before the main election.

In a related update, INEC announced that the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters will take place from Wednesday, October 22 to Sunday, October 26. Eligible voters are advised to collect their PVCs from their original registration areas.
