Overnight attacks by Russia struck Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and surrounding regions, leaving six people dead, including two children and inflicting widespread damage to the country’s power infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strikes as evidence that Russia “does not feel enough pressure” to end the war, saying the attacks targeted civilian‑energy systems in a calculated move to undermine normal life.

Authorities reported at least 17 injured and noted that multiple regions suffered power blackouts as the country heads into colder months.

The disruption to electricity and heating supplies compounded the humanitarian impact of the assault.
