The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, is set to leave the Labour Party on Thursday, DAILY GAZETTE reports.
Although details surrounding her planned defection remain unclear, it was gathered that the decision follows prolonged internal disagreements within the party and ongoing consultations with key political stakeholders.
Senator Kingibe won the FCT senatorial seat on the platform of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election.
