The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Enugu State Command, Dr. Elijah Willie, has charged newly promoted officers of the Corps to uphold professionalism, integrity, and discipline in the discharge of their duties.
Dr. Willie gave the charge on Thursday in Enugu during the decoration ceremony of 147 officers who were promoted to various ranks for the 2025/2026 promotion exercise.
The event took place at the NSCDC Enugu State Command Headquarters.
He congratulated the officers on their elevation, describing the promotions as recognition of their dedication, discipline, and commitment to service.
According to him, promotion in the Corps is not merely a change of rank but a call to higher responsibility and leadership.
“As you wear your new ranks today, I charge you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discipline. Lead by example, respect the chain of command, and ensure that your conduct reflects the honour and values of the Corps,” Willie said.
The commandant reminded the officers that their new status comes with increased expectations, urging them to demonstrate renewed zeal, improved performance, and unwavering loyalty in the protection of lives and critical national assets across Enugu State.
He also called on officers and men of the command to remain united, focused, and committed to their collective mandate, expressing confidence that the Corps would continue to strengthen its image and operational effectiveness.
Speaking at the event, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Enugu State Command, Pamela Chukwu, who was promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Corps, DSC, expressed gratitude to the management of the Corps.
Chukwu described her elevation as a motivation to do more, noting that promotion is one of the ways the Corps recognises hard work and dedication.
She pledged to live up to expectations and continue to serve with diligence and professionalism.
