The family of Abuja-based singer Ifunanya Nwangene, popularly known as Nanyah, has announced her funeral arrangements following her death on January 31, 2026.
Nanyah reportedly died after a snake bite at her residence in Abuja. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but later succumbed.
Her brother, Kingsley Nwangene, disclosed details of the burial on Instagram via his handle, @official_kaybaba1, where he shared her obituary alongside a brief tribute that read, “Till I see you again.”
According to the family, a service of songs will take place on February 10, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Abule Oshun, Dansa, Lagos, starting at 4 p.m., followed by a requiem mass at the same venue by 6 pm.
They added that the late singer would be laid to rest in her hometown in Enugu State on February 14, 2026, while a thanksgiving service in celebration of her life is scheduled for February 15, 2026.
In honour of her memory, the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society Choir staged a tribute concert titled “Tribute and Songs” at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The choir described her death as a painful loss to the Abuja music community and confirmed that her remains had earlier been transported to her father in Enugu State.
