There is no pretense to the fact that majority of Enugu citizens and residents are happy with the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the reasons are not far fetched.
After emerging victorious from the most contentious election in the history of Enugu State, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, shunned political vainglory, cheerleading, funfare and devoted himself to governance rooted in uplifting the life of the citizens.
Upon assumption of office, the Governor immediately embarked on infrastructure revolution, turning every nooks and crannies of the state into construction sites. New roads are being constructed and existing ones reconstructed, with speed.
His courage and swiftness of action that ended the menace of monday sit at home in Enugu State, endeared him to Ndi Enugu and earned him national recognition.
The Governor has also remained steadfast in his commitment towards addressing the challenge of perennial water scarcity in Enugu State as major reticulation pipes are getting laid everyday with impressive speed. The result is feasible already.
The Governor’s huge investment in the Green Smart School is driven by his conviction that there is existing gap in our basic education and it must be reinvented for our children to fit into the emerging technology driven world through foundational experiential training that prepare the pupils in theory and in practical terms on how to become self-reliant.
Like the saying goes that a good leader is a visioner. Governor Mbah encapsulated his bold vision and mission in a simple cliche or Mantra ” TOMORROW IS HERE, which has remained the driving force of his administration.
The Governor’s courage to shun pressure to embark on the dualizatiion of Penox -Nowas, Ugwogo Nike Nsukka road is highly commendable as it is already easing traffic. The Governor is really breaking the jinx, doing what hitherto seemed impossible.
The Governor is aiming at making Enugu a self reliant State by growing the GDP marginally and blocking revenue leakages which has impacted positively on the internally generated revenue of the state.
Enugu will soon become a destination for medical tourism with the Governor’s huge and unprecedented investment in the health sector. The health training institutions in Enugu State are being upgraded to world class. Magnificent edifice with corresponding equipments now adorn the State Teaching Hospital, Parklane.
Type 2 hospital is located across the 260 wards of Enugu State. The World class hospital by the state Government is almost completed.
The Governor is a problem solver. He realized that the capital city is already congested and he started creating new cities out of rural communities through his urbanization policy. Migration to the Enugu Capital from the rural communities is becoming a thing of the past.
Mbah has made Enugu safer than he met it and the state has become a tourist attraction and a destination for Foreign Direct Investment.
One may say that challenges exist here and there but they should know that Governor Mbah, is not God that can solve all the society problems in a short time, rather, we should appreciate his visible commitment towards addressing the pressing needs of; guaranteeing safety of citizens, providing good road networks, clean and safe water, quality basic education for our children, affordable healthcare, job opportunities for the youths and uplifting the lives of the citizens through good policies and programs.
Beyond several achievements of the Governor which have won the hearts of Enugu people, he has restored decency, aura and dignity to the lion building and when the lion roars, everyone listens.
Enugu is truly blessed and the citizens are happy with Barr. Peter Mbah as Governor of Enugu State and will keep supporting him to continue the good work.
If not that the beauty of democracy is the opportunity to make choice, there may not be need for governorship contest in Enugu state comes 2027 because the best needs no replacement.
