Tragedy has reportedly struck Uga in Anambra State following reports that Messioma Nwaora, a young woman who was earlier declared missing, has been found dead.
Unverified accounts circulating on social media have linked her death to her former boyfriend, identified as Chima Emmanuel, reportedly from Ebonyi State, who allegedly confessed to killing her after she ended their relationship.
According to the accounts, the suspect admitted that he strangled Messioma by tightening her clothing around her neck until she died.
The reports further claimed that he subsequently placed her body inside a bag said to weigh about 70kg before transporting it away on a commercial motorcycle, popularly known as an okada.
However, the allegations, including the purported confession and the details surrounding the incident, have not been independently verified.
As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether the Anambra State Police Command has officially confirmed the discovery of the body, identified any suspect in connection with the incident or announced an arrest.
