Still on the proceeding of Enugu governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, 19th July, 2023

There was a mild drama in the Enugu governorship election Petitions Tribunal on Wednesday when the first respondent in the petition filed by the Labour Party governorship candidate in the state, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC told the Court that it has no witness in the case.

The 1st Respondent, however failed to open defense on Edeoga and Labour Party’s petition challenging the declaration of Peter Mbah as winner of the Governorship Election in Enugu State.

Counsel to INEC, H.I Okoli, asked court to rely on certified true copies of the commission’s documents tendered by the petitioners.

He said:
“After a review of the case my Lord, we have decided not to put up any witness ” he concluded.
