Officials of the National Emergency Managment Agency, NEMA on Friday handed over relief materials to Eha-Amufu communities in Isiuzo Council Area of Enugu state and pledged to do more to ameliorate the suffering of those displaced by herdsmen attacks.

The National President of Eha-Amufu Federated Development Union, EFDU, Dr. Simeon Egbachukwu while receiving the relief materials on behalf of Eha-Amufu communities, appreciated NEMA for coming to the aid of communities affected by herdsmen invasion and appealed to the agency to do more to help the displaced families resettle.

The Chairman of Eha-Amufu Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Simon Ogbonna, in his speech, appreciated God for making the event possible, while thanking NEMA for their humanitarian intervention.

Ogbonna enjoined Eha-Amufu communities to remain steadfast and optimistic as greater things are on the way coming to Eha-Amufu.

Speaking at the event, the former chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Chief Eric Ebeh lauded NEMA for the prompt intervention and appealed for more relief materials.

Hon. Francis Ede while narrating the sad experience of Eha-Amufu communities during the herdsmen attacks that nearly sacked the entire Eha-Amufu, appreciated NEMA for remembering the communities.

On her part, the zonal coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Mrs. Ngozi
Echeazu Oduokwu thanked Eha-Amufu leaders for caring and working for the wellbeing of their people.

She specifically appreciated Dr. Simeon Egbachukwu, Mr. Simon Ogbonna and Pastor Robert Eze for their devotion and sacrifice that made the day possible.

Mrs. Echeazu said NEMA has noted their concerns and assured of more relief materials that will be released in batches to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

The event attracted the Bishop of Eha-Amufu Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. DN Olinya, the Coordinator Isi-Uzo President Generals, Darlington Nnaji, Former chairmen of Isi-Uzo, Chief Eric Ebeh and Dr. Benjamin Edeoga, former SA to the Governor, Chief Francis Ede and Former Supervisor For Education, Hon. Shepherd Iyioku.

Others were, HRH, Igwe Edmond Ogbu, HRH, Igwe Philemon Obeagu, President Generals as well as religious leaders.
