President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a journey to Dakar, Senegal, on Tuesday, to attend the inauguration ceremony of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. This invitation to the Republic of Senegal comes as President Tinubu, also serving as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Authority of Heads of State and Government, joins other regional leaders at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre to witness the historic event.

According to a statement released by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, alongside other senior government officials.

The statement further noted that President Tinubu’s trip is a testament to the close ties between Nigeria and Senegal, as well as the commitment to fostering regional cooperation and unity within ECOWAS.

Following the conclusion of the inauguration ceremony, President Tinubu is expected to return promptly to Nigeria, having fulfilled his diplomatic responsibilities in Senegal.
