The Actors Guild of Nigeria has officially confirmed the passing of Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, shocking fans and colleagues alike.

The talented actor, whose real name is Pope Odonwodo, was said to have drown alongside three other colleagues while filming in River Niger on Wednesday.

The news of his death sparked an outpouring of tributes and condolences from within the entertainment community and beyond, as colleagues and fans mourn the loss of a beloved talent.

In a statement signed by the National President of the guild, Dr. Emeka Rollas, “all films that involve reverine areas and boats riding is hereby suspended indefinitely.”

The guild ordered that there will be “no shoot on all locations nationwide on Thursday, 11th April” and equally suspende the film titled ‘Another side of life’ indefinitely.

According to the statement “no actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer till further notice.

“While we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining persons, may their soul rest in peace” it concluded.
