The celebrity barman faced three counts related to the abuse of the national currency, as he allegedly sprayed and tampered with the naira during a social event, an act deemed contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The charges stemmed from an incident on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, where Cubana Chief Priest was accused of spraying N500 denomination notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) while dancing at the event.

The court emphasized that Cubana Chief Priest’s actions during the social gathering constituted an offense under the law, as he was alleged to have engaged in the spraying of the naira for an extended period of two hours.

As the trial progresses, Cubana Chief Priest continues to maintain his innocence, setting the stage for further legal proceedings in the matter.
