Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf,

The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board (HMB), Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, has announced the immediate suspension of a doctor from Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital.

The suspension follows complaints from both patients and staff about the doctor’s absence without prior notice to the hospital management.

Reports indicate that despite several attempts to contact the doctor, she falsely claimed to be present at the hospital while actually being absent.

This left a dialysis patient in a critical condition due to lack of care.

Dr. Nagoda emphasized that the suspension will remain in effect until a thorough investigation is completed.

He reiterated the importance of adherence to duty rosters and warned that any negligence would be met with strict consequences.

Highlighting the doctors’ ethical obligations, Dr. Nagoda reminded medical professionals of their oath to prioritize patient care.

He also noted that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had provided allowances for medical practitioners to support the delivery of quality healthcare services.

The Executive Secretary urged all medical staff to enhance their commitment to their responsibilities, ensuring no patient is left unattended.
