President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Before his appointment, Brig. Gen. Nafiu served as the Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede.
He had previously held the same position under the late Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
A distinguished military officer, Nafiu is a member of the 47 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
He specializes in Artillery Operations and has undergone advanced military training at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Nigeria, as well as the prestigious US Army War College.
His experience also includes a tenure as a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria, where he played a key role in shaping the strategic military education of senior officers.
Brig. Gen. Nafiu hails from Ileogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State.
His appointment takes immediate effect, as he replaces Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed in leading the NYSC.
