The Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Ogbodo, has thrown his full weight behind the ongoing polio vaccination campaign, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the health and well-being of children in the area.
During a supervisory visit to vaccination sites across the council, Hon. Ogbodo commended the dedication and resilience of the health workers leading the charge against polio.
He urged them to ensure no child is left behind, stressing the need for total coverage across all communities, including hard-to-reach areas.
In a bid to bolster the campaign’s effectiveness, the Chairman announced plans to provide additional logistics support to the vaccination teams.
This, he said, would ensure unhindered access to remote villages and settlements, thereby improving coverage and outcomes.
“The health of our children is non-negotiable. We are fully committed to supporting this campaign until every eligible child in Nkanu West is protected from polio” he declared.
The vaccination exercise has so far recorded significant progress, with enthusiastic support from local residents who recognize the life-saving importance of the initiative
