U.S President, Donald Trump has announced that India and Pakistan have reached a ceasefire agreement following recent violent confrontations between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump wrote, “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” acknowledging the diplomatic breakthrough.
He further lauded both countries for their cooperation and decision to de-escalate, stating they had succeeded in “using Common Sense and Great Intelligence.”
The declaration follows mounting international concern over the escalating hostilities between the two nations, which had resulted in fatalities and heightened regional tensions.
While the specifics of the negotiations remain undisclosed, the U.S. played a central role in facilitating the agreement, according to the President’s announcement.
