Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has ordered all APC members in the state to return to their respective wards for a membership revalidation exercise beginning August 4, 2025.

Announcing the initiative during his inaugural visit to the party secretariat in Uyo, Eno disclosed that registers will be distributed through ward chairmen, with the exercise set to run for approximately one month.

“A register will be sent to all the wards through the ward chairmen, and the exercise will commence on August 4, 2025, and will last for about a month to give room to all interested persons to register.”

He emphasized the importance of participation regardless of status. The process will be followed by digital capturing by the national secretariat.

“The membership registration was very essential to ascertain the actual members of the party … everyone, irrespective of his or her status, should take part in the process, which will be followed by a digital capturing by the national secretariat of the party.”

Eno also announced a forthcoming Federal Government empowerment initiative, allocating benefits on a one-per-ward basis.

He said “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu means well for this country. Some of us know what he went through when he took over and today, two years after, things are stabilising.”

“We need to support him. We believe that he is stabilising the economy. As a governor, we can tell you that he is releasing money for the state, that’s why we are doing projects, not owing contractors and paying gratuities.”

Eno expressed appreciation to party members for their support, reaffirming his commitment to the “ARISE Agenda” and progress made over the past two years:

“Today, we have come as part of our familiarisation with the party office. We started with the party structure. We met with the stakeholders. We are now at the party office to pay respect to the party because party is supreme.”

“To all of you that have given us the support to have transitioned easily, I am here today to thank those who have believed in good governance, who have believed in the ARISE Agenda and all of the little progress we have been able to make in the last two years.”

As part of the visit, the governor inaugurated a 10-member committee tasked with securing land and funds to deliver a suitable APC secretariat for Akwa Ibom.
