The All Progressives Congress (APC) has regained the Ganye State Constituency seat in the Adamawa State House of Assembly following a tightly contested bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The APC candidate, Misa Musa Jauro, secured 16,923 votes, narrowly defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Buba Muhammad Joda, who polled 16,794 votes, a margin of just 129 votes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared the results in the early hours of Sunday.
The Returning Officer, Professor Tukur Ahmed, announced the outcome shortly before 5am, bringing the electoral process to a close.
This bye-election was necessitated by the death of the former APC lawmaker, Abdulmalik Musa, who held the seat until 2024.
His passing left the position vacant and triggered the contest between the state’s two dominant political parties.
