The National Examinations Council (NECO) has strongly denied reports of an ongoing recruitment exercise, warning the public to beware of fraudsters behind a fake online job advertisement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NECO’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, clarified that the council is not hiring and described the circulating claims as entirely false.
“The attention of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has been drawn to an online publication purporting that the Council is planning to recruit new staff,” Sani said.
“The Council enjoins members of the public to disregard the publication as it has no plan to recruit new staff.”
He warned that the false job alert was the handiwork of scammers looking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians, urging the public to stay vigilant.
Sani assured that NECO, under the leadership of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, would only carry out recruitment through official channels and in line with due process once approval is granted by the Federal Government.
The Council encouraged citizens to verify any recruitment-related information directly from its official platforms to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
