Former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has reportedly passed away.

According to preliminary reports, Arase died at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja.

While the cause of death remains unknown, official confirmation is still awaited from both his family and the Nigeria Police Force.

Details surrounding his passing are still unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Arase served as Nigeria’s 18th Inspector-General of Police, having been appointed in April 2015 by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Beyond his role as IGP, he also served as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) and held various other key positions in public service.
