The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest of two former operatives, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who were allegedly involved in fraudulent activities while falsely claiming ties to the agency.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the DSS revealed that the individuals had previously been dismissed from the service and had continued to misrepresent themselves as active operatives to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“Recall that the DSS recently issued disclaimers on two dismissed personnel… who were allegedly operating under the guise of the Service to perpetrate fraud,” the statement noted.
The agency confirmed that both men have been apprehended and will be prosecuted in line with the law.
The DSS reiterated its earlier disassociation from the pair and urged the public to remain vigilant against impostors.
