The Senate has confirmed Bernard Doro as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following a brief screening session that lasted less than 30 minutes.
Doro’s nomination came after the resignation of Nentawe Yilwatda, who previously represented Plateau State in the Federal Executive Council.
His confirmation makes him the third ministerial nominee from Plateau State in the current administration.
During the screening, Doro outlined his vision to build an inclusive and effective humanitarian ecosystem, emphasizing that his work will be guided by the principles of impartiality, independence, and collaboration.
He pledged to enhance coordination among security agencies to better identify and support individuals and communities affected by crises, noting that technology will be key in improving the government’s response to humanitarian challenges.
Lawmakers, after posing a few questions, expressed satisfaction with his qualifications and plans.
The Senate President then directed Doro to “take a bow and leave,” signifying his successful confirmation.
