President Bola Tinubu is expected to leave Abuja on Wednesday for a two-country visit to South Africa and Angola, where he will attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit and the 7th African Union–European Union Summit.

The trip was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Tinubu’s first stop will be Johannesburg, where he will participate in the 20th G20 Summit. From there, he will proceed to Luanda for the AU-EU gathering.

The Presidency noted that Tinubu was invited by President Cyril Ramaphosa, the host and current G20 President.

It added that Brazil’s President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, had extended a similar invitation to Tinubu during his own G20 presidency in 2024.

Scheduled for November 22–23, 2025, the G20 Summit will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre and will host leaders of the world’s largest economies, along with representatives of the European and African Unions and key global financial institutions.

The statement added that Tinubu will hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthen cooperation on peace, security, and development issues.

After the G20 engagements, the President will join other African and European leaders in Luanda for the 7th AU-EU Summit, slated for November 24–25, 2025.

The meeting will bring together heads of state, youth representatives, innovators, and civil society to deliberate on shared challenges and propose solutions in areas such as climate change, digital economy, infrastructure, manufacturing, creative industries, and agribusiness.

Tinubu will travel with senior government officials, including: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Amb.
