Host nation Morocco have eliminated Nigeria from the Africa Cup of Nations, winning 4–2 on penalties after a tense semi-final that ended 0–0 after extra time.

Both sides battled cautiously over 120 minutes, with Nigeria’s defence standing firm against sustained Moroccan pressure. However, the deadlock persisted, forcing the match into a penalty shoot-out.

In the shoot-out, Morocco held their nerve, converting four kicks while Nigeria managed two, sealing the hosts’ place in the final amid wild celebrations.

Morocco will now face Senegal in Sunday’s AFCON final, while Nigeria exit the tournament at the semi-final stage after a spirited campaign.
