Tension flared in parts of Abuja on Monday as aggrieved workers reportedly moved toward the motorcade of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during a protest over outstanding welfare and salary concerns.

Eyewitness accounts and a video obtained by DAILY GAZETTE showed the striking workers converging at the scene to demand attention to their grievances as the minister’s convoy passed through the area.

The protesters were seen chanting slogans and advancing toward the vehicles in an attempt to draw attention to their demands, prompting a brief moment of disorder before security operatives intervened.
