Baze University, Abuja, has acquired two aircraft as part of efforts to establish a full-fledged aviation training school in Bwari, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with a target of producing more than 600 aviation professionals.

The Pro-Chancellor of the university, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, disclosed this on Friday after the newly acquired aircraft received a traditional water-cannon salute at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Baba-Ahmed said the acquisition was aimed at strengthening aviation education, developing skilled manpower and contributing to Nigeria’s growth in the aviation sector.

He explained that the institution planned to train at least 600 professionals in specialised fields, including air traffic control, air rescue and firefighting, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, in addition to its existing approved academic programmes.
