Renowned Nigerian highlife musician and folklore icon, Chief Mike Ejeagha, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Umuagba, Imezi-Owa, in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Known for his didactic lyrics and preservation of Igbo oral traditions through music, Ejeagha enjoyed a decades-long career that earned him the title “Gentleman” and a revered place in Nigeria’s musical history.

Chief Ejeagha passed away earlier in the year at the age of 93, leaving behind a lasting legacy of cultural enrichment and musical excellence.

His contributions to highlife music and Igbo folklore have influenced generations of artists and continue to resonate among lovers of indigenous African music
