Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, has lost his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Jega.
The death was confirmed by former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in a condolence message shared on social media.
Malami described the late Hadiza Jega as a woman of grace, dignity, and virtue whose life left a lasting impact on her family, community, and society at large.
He extended his sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
He also prayed for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings.
The funeral prayer for the deceased was scheduled to take place at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday.
Professor Jega, a respected academic and public servant, currently serves as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education in Kano State, and also holds a national advisory role on livestock reform.
