The Federal Government has renamed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the landmark infrastructure project now to be known as the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Coastal Highway.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced the decision on Friday, describing it as a recognition of Tinubu’s commitment to delivering one of Nigeria’s most ambitious road infrastructure projects.

According to Umahi, the highway represents a transformative investment designed to enhance connectivity, boost economic activities and open up coastal communities to greater commercial and tourism opportunities.

Stretching across several states along Nigeria’s coastline, the project is expected to improve transportation, facilitate trade and support long-term economic development.

The minister said the renaming reflects the administration’s determination to leave a lasting legacy through critical infrastructure capable of driving national growth and regional integration.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is one of the flagship projects of the Tinubu administration.
