The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde, has urged Nigerians to collect any money offered to them by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2027 general elections but vote according to their conscience.

Makinde, who spoke on Saturday at the flag-off of his presidential campaign in Bauchi State, maintained that voters should not allow financial inducements to influence their electoral decisions.

He argued that Nigerians had every right to collect money distributed during campaigns while retaining the freedom to choose their preferred candidates at the ballot.

“When they come with money during the election, do not bother to reject it. If the money is yours, collect it and spend it. But guard your conscience and make the right decision when the time comes. I know that your hearts are with us and with me,” he said.

The APM presidential hopeful also urged Nigerians dissatisfied with the country’s prevailing socio-economic and security challenges to reject the APC in the forthcoming election and embrace his party as an alternative.

He specifically cited worsening insecurity, hunger and what he described as the government’s failure to address the mounting challenges confronting citizens.

“If you are unhappy with the situation in our country today, particularly the growing insecurity, hunger and the inability of the government to address the challenges confronting Nigerians, then there is only one party for us. That party is the party of respect for Nigeria,” Makinde declared.

He called on Nigerians to identify with the APM’s political movement, describing its supporters as “Resetters”.

According to him, the party is committed to respecting communities, strengthening the country’s security architecture and creating an inclusive political environment that would guarantee greater participation in governance.

Makinde also commended the party’s national leader and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, for hosting the campaign flag-off.

He equally expressed appreciation to the APM National Chairman for providing him with the platform to pursue his presidential ambition and present his vision for the country.

The presidential candidate said the party was determined to offer Nigerians a new political direction capable of addressing the nation’s numerous challenges.
