Gov. Mutfwang Orders Census To Reclaim Terrorist-Occupied Communities In Plateau

In a decisive move to reclaim communities overrun by terrorists, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has directed a census of residents in affected areas.

The governor made this known on Saturday during a visit to the Tyop community in Mangu Local Government Area.

Highlighting the alarming security situation where 64 communities are under terrorist control, Mutfwang condemned the displacement of indigenous people and called for proper documentation of all residents.

“I want a census of people living in this place (Tyop community). When they built their houses, who gave them permission to build their houses? We cannot afford to be lawless,” he said.

“Let me make it clear, any district head that allows people to settle within the district without proper documentation of who they are, that district head knows that he will dance to the music that will follow accordingly.”

The governor described the occupation of ancestral lands by unauthorized settlers as an intentional strategy to impoverish the people.

“We will not allow this nonsense to continue. We have to be law-abiding. We cannot be lawless. This kind of arrangement where indigenous population are chased out of their ancestral homes is an arrangement to keep our people in poverty and we cannot accept it.”

Calling for peaceful solutions, Mutfwang urged security agencies to step up.

“We want everybody to live in peace. We welcome people who want land to build houses, but there is a procedure which must be followed,” he said.

“You can’t just come from nowhere and start building houses in the middle of nowhere. It is not done anywhere. Worse still, people were chased out of their homes; you take it over and occupy it. This is not right.”

“This is not correct. So, we need to engage these people, and I want us to do it as peacefully as possible because we can’t continue to allow this kind of story to continue to repeat itself.”

During his visit, Mutfwang also toured other attacked communities in Bokkos Local Government Area, including Hurti and Daho, where he met with internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Disturbed by their dire conditions, especially among women and children, he urged them not to abandon their ancestral lands.

The governor encouraged community youths to stay focused and take up the responsibility of safeguarding their heritage.

“President Tinubu has extended his condolences and stands with you in the quest for peace and justice,” Mutfwang said.

“We are here to witness firsthand the devastation caused by these acts of banditry. This village recorded one of the highest numbers of casualties in this coordinated act of terrorism and genocide.”

“I’ve come not just to sympathise but to assure you that this government stands firmly with you,” he stated.

“We must rise above our differences, unite as a people, and resist the agenda of division. God did not make a mistake by planting you in this land. The government will do its part, and I urge the youth to play their role.”

At the St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church in Bokkos, where many IDPs are taking shelter, Mutfwang expressed grief over their suffering and commended the church for its humanitarian support.

He promised swift action to resettle the displaced.

He also visited a mass grave where victims of the recent violence were buried, pledging to erect a memorial in their honor. A prayer session was led by Reverend Gideon Para-Mallam.

In his remarks, Raymond Alo, the District Head of Manguna, thanked the governor for his support and disclosed that some attackers are known to locals.

He appealed for greater efforts to secure federal intervention and rebuild the devastated communities.

Obasanjo Hails Gov. Otti, Describes Him As A Goal-Oriented Leader

Governor Alex Otti,

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has showered praises on Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, describing him as a goal-oriented leader whose efforts are transforming the lives of Abians.

Obasanjo made these remarks on Saturday at the Unity Church in Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area, during the commissioning of the 46.36km Umuahia–Uzuakoli–Akara–Alayi–Abiriba Highway, reconstructed under the administration of Governor Otti.

Recalling his past experience with the road, Obasanjo expressed astonishment at the transformation.

“You (Gov. Otti) are a man of your word, a goal getter, a performer. You are a man who says no to what is bad and yes to what is good. You are an example of a leader,” he said.

The former president, who noted the poor state of the road during a previous visit to Abiriba, described Otti as a “miracle worker.”

He added, “This road you are all talking about, I traveled on it to Abiriba. It was hellish, and when I was told that the road you have done will get me from Umuahia to Abiriba in 35 minutes, I said this man called Alex Otti is a miracle worker.”

Obasanjo urged the people of Abia to appreciate the quality of leadership they currently enjoy and advised them to make the most of it.

“You (Abia people) said you have had leaders before, but one thing you must know is that good leaders don’t flock and when you get a good leader, like you have got in Dr Alex Otti, you must maximise good use of him.”

He further noted that Otti’s performance is evidence that Nigeria’s current challenges can be overcome with the right leadership.

“I am a witness to what you are doing and urge you to keep doing what you are doing. If you look hard and wide, you will see that this governor does not lack a good team,” he said.

“Of course, this is proof that whatever bad situation we are seeing today can be made good tomorrow. All we need to do is to make sure that at every level, we must have the right leaders with the right team to work with.”

Obasanjo also downplayed political party affiliations, emphasizing character and capacity.

“For me, a political party is just a platform. What matters is the quality of the man, and the quality of Alex Otti is a good quality.”

In a concluding remark that hinted at electoral advice, he said, “Well, when the time comes for elections, my advice to the people of Abia State is, don’t change a winning horse.”

Governor Otti, in his address, expressed satisfaction over the project’s completion and noted its significance.

He said the newly commissioned highway is a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to doing things differently.

According to him, “The commissioning ceremony was an eloquent testimony of his resolve to be doing things differently,” and he added that the road would significantly reduce travel time for motorists and improve connectivity across the state.

Nigeria, Japan Seal $30 Million Deal To Build Start-Up Hubs In Abuja

In a significant boost to Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, the Federal Government has signed a $30 million grant agreement with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to develop world-class Start-Up Hubs in Abuja.

The move is part of broader efforts to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.

The partnership features two major components.

The first, valued at $9.9 million, involves constructing a state-of-the-art Start-Up Hub under the supervision of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

The second, worth $21 million, is focused on creating an enabling environment for social start-ups, with implementation led by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

The initiative will feature cutting-edge facilities, collaborative workspaces, and digital infrastructure aimed at supporting early-stage businesses, promoting job creation, and tackling social problems through technology.

Disbursement of the funds will occur in phases through 2030 and will cover infrastructure, equipment, and consultancy services, including contingency allocations.

The agreement was signed by Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, on behalf of Nigeria, and Mr. Yuzurio Susumu, JICA’s Chief Representative in Nigeria, representing the Japanese government.

“This project marks a significant milestone in Nigeria-Japan bilateral relations,” Senator Bagudu said.

“It reflects our shared vision for innovation-driven economic growth and youth empowerment.”

In line with the agreement, Japanese suppliers will be given priority in major contracts, although local sourcing of products and services is also permitted.

NITDA will oversee the core aspects of project delivery, including regulatory approvals, provision of utilities, and adherence to environmental and safety standards.

Kashifu Inuwa, NITDA Director General, applauded the continued collaboration with JICA.

He cited the success of the iHatch initiative as a prime example of their productive relationship.

“We are now expanding this initiative across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory,” Inuwa noted.

“Through a six-month incubation program, iHatch equips startups with the tools and mentorship they need to launch market-ready products, leveraging JICA’s global expertise.”

He also emphasized ongoing initiatives to foster stronger ties between Nigerian and Japanese technology sectors, including startup exchange programs and sponsorships to international tech events in Japan.

Both agencies recently launched the IgniteHer Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Abuja—a five-day intensive program designed to empower women entrepreneurs and support a more inclusive digital economy.

Once completed, the Abuja Start-Up Hub is expected to become a focal point for creativity and innovation in West Africa, positioning Nigeria as a leading force in the continent’s digital transformation.

The project kicks off in April 2025 and will continue through December 2030.

It aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, reflecting a national commitment to drive inclusive growth through digital technology.

As part of JICA’s operational standards, monthly updates will be provided, with a full report to be submitted six months after the project concludes.

‘He Brought Joy To millions,’ Tinubu Mourns Christian Chukwu

President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to Nigerian football great Christian Chukwu, describing him as a national icon whose achievements on and off the pitch “brought joy to millions.”

Chukwu, who captained the Green Eagles to Nigeria’s first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980 and later guided the Super Eagles to bronze at the 2004 AFCON as head coach, passed away on Saturday at age 74.

“The President joins the football community in mourning a legend whose contributions to the beautiful game elevated Nigeria’s status globally,” Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokesman, said in a statement.

Nicknamed “Chairman” for his leadership qualities, Chukwu spent his club career with Enugu Rangers, steering them to multiple domestic trophies and continental success with the 1977 African Cup Winners’ Cup victory.

In his eulogy, President Tinubu said, “Christian Chukwu was more than a footballer and coach. He was a symbol of excellence and patriotism.

He brought joy to millions, mentored a generation of footballers, and stood as a pillar of the Nigerian brand and sportsmanship on and off the pitch.

“His legacies will continue to live on in the trophies he won, the lives he touched, and the exciting moments he provided to football fans and spectators on the field and in the technical area.”

“We are forever grateful for his contributions to the sport we all love, and we will always remember him with great respect and admiration.”

Tinubu also prayed for comfort for Chukwu’s family and the wider Nigerian sporting community, saying he hoped they would find solace in the enduring legacy of a man who “wrote his name in gold” on African football.

Borno Explosion Kills Eight, Injures Many

At least eight people—including the driver of a Hummer bus—and scores more were injured when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Maiduguri–Damboa–Biu federal highway on Saturday at about 11:30 am.

The blast occurred near Gidan Kaji (the abandoned Poultry House) in Konduga Local Government Area, a site deserted since the height of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Lawan Maina, District Head of Damboa, told our correspondent by phone: “It is very saddened to inform you about the explosion that took place along Damboa‑Maiduguri road this morning. A driver of a hummer bus and seven passengers died at the spot, while many others sustained various degrees of injury. I want to appeal to the federal government and the security agencies to redouble their efforts in complementing Borno State Government’s support and cooperation to defeat Boko Haram terrorists in the North East sub region.”

All injured victims were evacuated to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, where Governor Babagana Zulum, accompanied by his entourage, ordered that they receive free treatment.

The attack comes just days after an Expanded Security Council meeting chaired by Governor Zulum, where he warned that renewed Boko Haram assaults were causing the state to lose ground.

In response, Information Minister Mohammed Idris issued a press statement insisting that “the administration remains committed to combating terrorism and banditry across the nation,” and that “the security agencies are working round‑the‑clock to bring the situation in parts of Borno and other states under control.”

However, when his remarks drew widespread criticism, the minister’s media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, “back‑pedalled” in a statement describing the report as “categorically false and a gross distortion of the minister’s remarks.”

Ibrahim stressed that, at no point did the minister say, “Ignore Zulum, Boko Haram has not taken over Borno.”

Former Borno Commissioner of Trade, Commerce and Industry Hon. Yerima Lawan Kareto, who has publicly challenged the minister’s claim of safety in the state, extended a personal invitation to Idris: “Let me inform the Minister that such statement is not enough to cool the high tensions raised on the resilient Borno people who have trust and confidence on Governor Babagana Zulum’s good governance, this can be attested to numerous people oriented projects and the unrelenting support in cash and kind to security agencies since 2019 to date. Minister Idris have to come to Borno under my personal invitation to follow me to Damasak.”

“This would avail him the opportunity to tender an unreserved apology and to tell Nigerians whether Governor Zulum, the Shehu Of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Garbai Al‑Amin El‑Kanemi and other security agencies who deliberated extensively on the renewed attacks, were all better informed that Borno is losing ground to terrorists or not.”

Kareto also urged Governor Zulum and frontline troops “not to be deterred by the Minister’s outburst, but to remain committed and focused on the fight against the renewed killings and other criminalities bedevilling many communities in the state.”

2027: El-Rufai Sudden Romance With Atiku Suspicious – Northern Group Warns

The Northern Conscience Movement (NCM) has voiced alarm over former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El‑Rufai’s unexpected shift from critic to admirer of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Lawal Nuhu Ahmed, the NCM challenged the sincerity of El‑Rufai’s new stance and warned Nigerians to scrutinise the timing and motives behind it.

“The Northern Conscience Movement (NCM) finds it necessary to address the recent and perplexing admiration displayed by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El‑Rufai towards former Vice President Atiku Abubakar,” the statement begins.

It highlights that only months ago, El‑Rufai “labelled him a ‘liar’ and accused him of harbouring an ‘obsession with power’ and being ‘haunted by his corruption demon.’

“Such harsh condemnations, the NCM notes, “were rooted in serious allegations that have followed Abubakar throughout his political career.”

According to the NCM, the abrupt about‑face comes on the heels of El‑Rufai’s own political setbacks—most notably his “fallout with President Bola Tinubu” and the Senate’s refusal to confirm his ministerial nomination.

“Such circumstances suggest that El‑Rufai may be adjusting his political alliances out of necessity rather than a change in perspective,” the group argues.

The statement further expresses concern over recent engagements between El‑Rufai and key PDP figures, including Atiku and Aminu Tambuwal, as they reportedly sought President Muhammadu Buhari’s support for a unified opposition against Tinubu in 2027.

“This manoeuvre is viewed as potentially undermining the integrity of political discourse in the region,” the NCM warns.

It also questions “Buhari’s receptiveness to this coalition, given the current political tensions.”

Highlighting the risks of opportunistic alliances, the NCM cautions: “We caution against interpreting El‑Rufai’s recent admiration as a genuine reconciliation, and urge that this be viewed within the context of the shifting political landscape.”

The group concludes by calling for higher standards of leadership: “We advocate for a political culture that values integrity, accountability, and genuine dedication to the welfare of the Nigerian people. We call upon all political actors, including El‑Rufai, to prioritise the interests of the nation over personal ambitions. The people of Nigeria deserve leaders who are consistent in their values and committed to the greater good.”

Gov. Mutfwang Visits Attacked Communities, Promises To End Killings In Plateau

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Saturday toured villages in Bokkos Local Government Area recently ravaged by gunmen, pledging to secure lives and livelihoods in the region.

Arriving in Hurti, Josho, Daffo and surrounding settlements, the governor met with grieving families and inspected burned homes.

He described the raids as a deliberate tactic to keep residents in “perpetual poverty” and urged unity and vigilance.

“I have come to see things for myself, so as to know the next line of action; it will enable me to report back to the president so as to prevent the repeat of this ugly incident,” Mutfwang said, committing to coordinate with federal authorities for a lasting solution.

He warned that the attackers aim not only to kill but to drive farmers off their land.

“It’s God that put all of you here, no one can drive you away. All that’s happening is to frighten you to abandon your land. These happenings are to prevent all of you from farming; it is not just killing people, but to ensure that we remain poor. But we will resist it,” he added.

To bolster community resilience, the governor promised upgrades to roads, electricity, potable water and mobile network services.

He also appealed directly to local youth: “Shun all criminal acts and unite to defend your communities from further attacks.”

Mutfwang praised residents for remaining on their ancestral land despite the violence and vowed to assist in rebuilding.

He extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for federal support.

“We are grateful to the president for his concern for our people; the president has no intention to colonise our people but to unite them.”

“He has demonstrated his genuine love for Plateau in this trying time and he is doing everything to end this circle of attacks,” the governor said.

Raymond Alo, District Head of Manguna, welcomed the governor’s visit and thanked him for providing food and relief items to displaced families.”

“He appealed for building materials to restore destroyed homes “in no distant time.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, gunmen struck Hurti, Josho, Daffo and other Manguna District communities on April 2, killing more than 40 people, destroying 383 houses and displacing some 1,000 residents.

US Embassy Announces New Visa Interview Requirements For Nigerian Applicants

The United States mission in Nigeria has announced new visa interview requirements for travellers in Abuja and Lagos, effective April 22, 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, the embassy detailed measures designed to streamline the consular process and reduce entry issues on interview day.

Under the revised rules, every visa applicant must present a printed DS‑160 confirmation form whose barcode number begins with “AA00” — the same number used to book their interview online.

“At least two weeks before your interview, please double‑check that the barcode number on your DS‑160 form matches the one you used to schedule your appointment,” the mission warned.

Failure to produce a matching barcode will result in denial of access to the Consular Section and refusal to sit the interview.

“You cannot reuse a DS‑160 from a previous application. If your DS‑160 barcode is incorrect, you must log into your AVITS account at least 10 days before your appointment to create a support ticket requesting correction of your barcode number,” the statement added.

Applicants are also reminded to attend their interview at the location selected on their DS‑160.

“You also must make your appointment in the location you selected when filling out your DS‑160,” the embassy emphasised.

For those turned away because of mismatched barcodes, the embassy advises correcting the form and then booking a new appointment via AVITS.

“If your visa fee has expired, you may have to pay a new fee before booking,” the statement noted.

These changes follow a January 1 directive requiring all Nigerian visa seekers to make two in‑person visits to the Lagos Consulate General as part of their application process.

The embassy says the new barcode checks are intended to prevent delays and ensure a smoother “visa processing” experience.

Applicants with questions or needing assistance can reach the visa call centre at +234 201 343 8900 (in Nigeria) or +1 734 418 2395 (from the U.S.), email nigeria@usvisaappt.com, or use the ChatBot and Click‑To‑Talk features on the AVITS website.

Police Neutralise Kidnap Syndicate, Kill Leader, Three Others

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have successfully dismantled a notorious kidnapping gang, neutralising its leader, Abubakar Usman (alias Shehu), along with three accomplices.

The operation took place in a forest hideout along the Asaba–Agbor road, between Okpanam and Issele‑Asagba, on the outskirts of Asaba.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe confirmed the outcome in a statement released on Saturday.

“The gang, led by Abubakar Usman, a.k.a. Shehu, was responsible for the murder of realtor Esther Ojoh and the abduction of a medical doctor, for whom they collected a ransom of ₦15 million,” he said.

Edafe added that the same syndicate had kidnapped the wife and daughter of Mr. Godwin Anuka after killing him in the Ogwashi‑uku area, and had carried out multiple abductions in Ibusa, Ubuluku, and neighbouring communities.

Following these brazen crimes, Commissioner of Police Olufemi Abaniwonda ordered his Special Assignment Team (CP‑SAT) to mount an intelligence‑led manhunt.

“We traced their movements and pinpointed their forest hideout,” Edafe explained.

Under the command of ASP Julius Robinson, CP‑SAT executed a sting operation at approximately 2200 hours on April 10, 2025, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire.

During the clash, four suspects—including Usman—were critically wounded. Three AK‑47 rifles and 90 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition were recovered at the scene.

The injured men were rushed to the General Hospital in Ogwashi‑uku, where they later succumbed to their wounds.

CP Abaniwonda praised the bravery of his officers: “The gallantry displayed by our Special Assignment Team is worth emulating. Their courage under fire has delivered justice to victims and sent a clear message to criminal elements.”

He urged all personnel to follow the example set by the team in carrying out their duties with professionalism and resolve.

2027: PDP Governors Meet As Coalition Talks Intensify, SDP Backs Out

Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are converging in Ibadan, Oyo State, this Sunday and Monday to address growing concerns within the party and strategize for a possible opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting comes amid mounting pressure from various quarters to forge a united opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, internal disagreements among major stakeholders continue to stall progress on coalition efforts, sources told DAILY GAZETTE.

One major point of discussion will be the party’s legal challenge at the Supreme Court over the federal government’s declaration of emergency in Rivers State and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who serves as vice chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.

The party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, confirmed the dates for the Ibadan meeting, noting it will hold on Sunday, April 13 and Monday, April 14, 2025.

Party insiders revealed that members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) have also been invited to join the discussion, with emphasis on how best to engage other opposition parties in the proposed alliance.

A recent Supreme Court judgement regarding the tussle over the position of PDP National Secretary—between Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye—is also on the table.

The governors are reportedly in possession of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment, which will shape their final position on the matter.

“The governors are already in possession of the CTC and it will inform their decision on who legitimately holds the position of national secretary,” a source close to the party’s leadership stated.

Another insider emphasized the high stakes surrounding the meeting, warning that the PDP risks slipping into political irrelevance if it fails to act boldly.

“The outcome of the meeting will determine the future of the PDP. If they don’t act decisively, the party risks becoming irrelevant in the opposition coalition. Over 75 per cent of PDP members are already tired and disappointed in the way the party is being run and are preparing to leave,” the source warned.

According to him, “The governors may chart a new path for the party – either leading it into a strong coalition or rebuild it internally and invite others to join. But whatever they choose to do, they must convince majority of party members of their sincerity.”

He continued, “The way this coalition is going, it might end up as an individual affair. Nigerians want change, that is clear, but the opposition leaders are not really determined to make it work.

“I can tell you categorically that unless something drastic is done, 75 per cent of PDP members have mentally checked out of the party. Whether one governor says one thing or another leader says something else doesn’t matter to the grassroots anymore.

“The governors have a lot of work to do. They need to allow the PDP constitution to prevail. Right now, members are scattered and disillusioned. People are simply trying to survive outside the party after enduring years of internal crisis.”

Asked to predict the top item on the Ibadan meeting agenda, the source responded: “The state of the party. That’s my honest opinion. It can’t be anything other than that. The PDP is in bad shape.”

Political analyst, Chudi Chukwuani noted that no single party can defeat the APC in 2027 without a united front.

“The only way to defeat the ruling party is through a coalition. If any individual is canvassing for a coalition, it means they are coming from a political party. Coalitions can begin with individuals, but eventually, the process must go through the political parties themselves,” he explained.

Drawing from history, Chukwuani added: “If you recall, when the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) came together, it started with individuals. Eventually, they formed the APC.

“The PDP is not the only political party in Nigeria. I believe that when the coalition builders get serious, other parties would have to choose between joining the APC or aligning with the opposition coalition. Standing alone will not work.”

“They tried it in 2023 and failed. The only way to win power from the APC is through a coalition.

“If you add up the votes of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar in the last election, they would have defeated the APC. That’s the path forward.”

Timothy Osadolor, a PDP chieftain, echoed similar sentiments, stressing that unity among the opposition is not optional.

“This coalition has to work for the interest and survival of Nigeria. Nigerians have come to the realisation that the APC cannot be dislodged without unity among all opposition leaders and parties,” he said.

He added, “The APC has entrenched itself so deeply that no single political party can claim to take it head-on without collaboration. So, it is a matter of necessity, not convenience for political leaders to join hands to give Nigeria a new lease of life in 2027.

“I don’t see why the APC should not be defeated in 2027. I believe that Nigerians of goodwill are resolute in their belief that the APC must be chased out. It is a duty to the nation.”

Although the PDP may not be taking the front seat in the coalition effort now, Osadolor believes the party will assume a major role.

“The PDP is saying that any coalition must be based on agreed terms, and all stakeholders must sit together to plan.”

“No one can sideline the PDP in coalition talks because, like it or not, it is the biggest political party in Nigeria, and arguably in West Africa.

“The PDP is going to take part and take the lead role in any meaningful coalition. That is our position,” he affirmed.

In a different tone, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has withdrawn from merger discussions, stating it would not enter into any “clean slate” arrangement.

In a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the SDP declared its commitment to offering a viable alternative for Nigerians but ruled out any merger.

“The party renewed its drive to champion the crusade and national quest for social justice, better life for citizens, national progress and sustainable development.

“It also reiterated its commitment to opening its gates to accommodate all patriotic politicians and young Nigerians across the country, but emphasised its stand on ‘no merger’ and ‘no clean slate’ collaboration,” the statement read.

Aiyenigba further disclosed that the party is focused on building robust structures across Nigeria and in the diaspora ahead of the 2027 elections.

“For optimal efficiency and effectiveness, the NWC has devised strategies to fine-tune the management of the party’s affairs and interests at various levels and to facilitate seamless harmonisation and integration of old and new members across the country,” he stated.

He urged Nigerians to continue to support the SDP, describing it as a “bastion of refreshing hope” committed to addressing the country’s pressing socioeconomic problems.
