The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the immediate removal of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, C.O.C. Akaolisa.

This development was announced on Monday through an official statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba.

The statement instructed Akaolisa to “immediately hand over all government properties and official documents in his possession to the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.”

Although no formal explanation was provided for the dismissal, a government source told DAILY GAZETTE that “the governor reserves the right to appoint and remove any official at his discretion.”
