In recognition of cultural heritage and literary celebration, the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has officially endorsed the Things Fall Apart Festival 2025, organized by the Centre for Memories, Enugu.

This endorsement marks a transformative moment for the annual event, upgrading it to a nationally recognized tourism festival with growing prominence in Nigeria’s cultural and tourism landscape.

The endorsement was formally delivered during a courtesy visit by an ATPN delegation led by Deputy President, Mr. Wilson Uche Ugwu, who represented the association’s National President, Prince Adetunji Femi Fadina.

The delegation was warmly received by the Executive Director of the Centre for Memories, Mr. Iheanyi Igboko.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Igboko described the visit as a landmark moment in the Centre’s efforts to bridge cultural preservation with national tourism development.

He highlighted the festival as not only a celebration of Chinua Achebe’s seminal novel Things Fall Apart, but also as a broader platform for promoting Igbo identity, collective memory, and artistic expression.

The ATPN delegation commended the Centre’s work, expressing admiration for its role in safeguarding Nigeria’s cultural narratives.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Ugwu presented an official letter of endorsement on behalf of Prince Fadina, stating that the Centre’s mission strongly aligns with ATPN’s goal of developing and sustaining Nigeria’s rich cultural and historical tourism assets.

ATPN also announced the Centre for Memories’ formal admission into the association’s membership.

Additionally, souvenir bags were presented as a token of ATPN’s support and enthusiasm for the upcoming festival.

Prince Adetunji Femi Fadina, in the endorsement letter, pledged full support and future collaboration, noting that the endorsement of the festival is part of ATPN’s broader strategy to integrate culturally significant events into Nigeria’s national tourism calendar.

The Things Fall Apart Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 5, 2025, promises a week-long series of events, performances, exhibitions, and discussions inspired by Chinua Achebe’s classic novel and its enduring impact on African literature and identity.

With ATPN’s endorsement, the festival now enjoys national visibility, attracting stakeholders from the tourism, culture, and creative industries.

Organizers anticipate that this partnership will not only enhance attendance and participation but also position Enugu as a cultural tourism destination.

The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) is the leading tourism body in Nigeria, committed to promoting sustainable tourism, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering professional excellence within the tourism industry.

Located in Enugu, Nigeria, the Centre for Memories is a non-profit organization focused on preserving and promoting Igbo history, culture, and memory.
