The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, will on Thursday, September 18, flag off the construction of 12 new roads and commission ongoing electrification efforts across Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
According to Olayinka, Wike will also inaugurate the provision of solar-powered streetlights in key parts of the Federal Capital City (FCC) and along major expressways, under the “Light Up Abuja” Programme.
The exercise, which is scheduled to span one month, from September 18 to October 16, will include the commissioning of two completed road projects and the groundbreaking of 14 others, signaling a significant boost to infrastructure development in the capital.
