Armed gunmen have reportedly invaded a secondary school in Kogi State during the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) examination, abducting the school principal and an unspecified number of students.
The attackers were said to have stormed the school while candidates were writing their examination, throwing the premises into confusion as students, teachers and other staff fled for safety.
Witnesses said the gunmen seized the principal and several students before escaping to an unknown destination.
Security agencies have since launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and intensified efforts to rescue the victims unharmed.
Authorities are yet to disclose the exact number of students abducted, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
