A Magistrate Court in Enugu North has ordered two Ebonyi State residents—Chisom Acho (22) and Chinonso Imeba (28)—to be remanded in the Enugu Correctional Centre over allegations of cyberstalking and defamation against a serving federal lawmaker.

The defendants appeared before Magistrate S. O. Chukwuani of Enugu North Magistrate Court 1 on Tuesday.

They are accused of circulating videos on social media in which they allegedly claimed that Hon. Chinedu Ogah was involved in murder and ritual activities.

The charges filed against them include conspiracy and cyberstalking.

In the charge sheet numbered CYREN/693/2025, police alleged that the pair, together with unidentified accomplices, “between the months of September 2025 and October 2025 at Obed Camp, Ngenevu, Enugu… did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: cyberstalking and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 27 of the Cyber Crime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2015 (as amended) 2024.”

They were further accused of spreading defamatory content via Facebook and TikTok.

According to the police, the defendants “knowingly or intentionally made video publications through Facebook and TikTok handles ‘Ikwo Pluto’ and ‘Pluto777’ respectively, using the picture of Rt. Hon. Chinedu N. Ogah, OON, stating that ‘Rt. Hon. Chinedu N. Ogah, OON killed some youths from Item Amagu, collected their talents, made some of the youths to go mad and used some for ritual purposes,’ and sent same to social media platforms and the internet, which has ridiculed his image and damaged his reputation.”

These allegations are brought under Section 24(2)(a)(b) and Section 27 of the Cybercrime Act. The court did not take their plea, as the matter had already been forwarded for legal review, according to prosecuting counsel CSP Justice Allah.

Represented by lawyers Chijioke Ugwueze and Samuel Ede, the defendants sought bail, but the magistrate declined and ordered their remand. The case has been adjourned until December 2, pending legal advice from the Office of the Attorney-General.

Speaking after the proceedings, Ugwueze outlined what comes next:

“The matter came up today for arraignment and they were arraigned under Federal laws bordering on cyberstalking.”

He added:

“The court, having looked at the weight of the charge, declined jurisdiction and had the defendants remanded in prison custody pending the opinion of the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP. So, we will take it up from there and do the needful.”

The Imo State Police Command has announced that five men will soon be arraigned for the violent assault of 55-year-old Mrs. Ndidiamaka Agu, which occurred in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson DSP Henry Okoye disclosed the development on Monday in Owerri.

He stated that the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, had on November 3, 2025, ordered an immediate investigation after a disturbing video of the assault surfaced online.

According to Okoye, five of the six suspects captured in the viral footage have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down the sixth suspect, who remains at large.

The arrested individuals were identified as: Onyekachi Njoku, 40, Chiazor Osuji, 45, Chukwuma Iwuala, 46, Eugene Njoku and Njoku Emmanuel, 35.

All five are from Uboegbelu, Emekuku.

The viral video shows the men repeatedly attacking Mrs. Agu despite a woman at the scene urging them to stop.

The suspects also attempted to assault the woman recording the incident and reportedly tried to forcefully enter her home.

Okoye said the police acted swiftly in line with the CP’s directive, leading to the arrest of the suspects by operatives of the X-Squad Unit.

He confirmed that the arrested men had confessed to participating in the assault.

He stated: “The Imo State Police Command wishes to provide an update on the investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, into the viral video showing Mrs.”

“Agu Ndididamaka being assaulted in Emekuku, Owerri North LGA. In furtherance of the CP’s directive for swift action, operatives of the X-Squad Unit have arrested five suspects linked to the barbaric assault.”

“The arrested suspects are: Onyekachi Njoku, 40 years ‘m’; Chiazor Osuji, 45 years ‘m’; Chukwuma Iwuala, 46 years ‘m’; Eugene Njoku, ‘m’; and Njoku Emmanuel, 35 years ‘m’, who all hail from Uboegbelu in Emekuku in Owerri North LGA.”

“All five suspects have made confessional statements admitting their roles in the attack. Meanwhile, the sixth suspect, identified as Onyedikachi Njoku, is still at large, and operatives are intensifying efforts to apprehend him.”

The state Commissioner of Police condemned the attack, warning that intimidation or retaliation against citizens who assist the police will not be tolerated.

A source who spoke anonymously revealed that Mrs. Agu had recently assisted police investigators in a matter involving the suspects, prompting them to invade her home and beat her “to a pulp.”

Amina Hassan, the distraught wife of the vice principal of Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School Gada in Kebbi State, has recounted how the bandits killed her husband during the kidnapping of 25 schoolgirls from a nearby school.

DAILY GAZETTE earlier reported that the Kebbi State Police Command confirmed that no fewer than 25 students were abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, early Monday morning.

The attack, carried out by heavily armed bandits, left one staff member dead and another injured, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4am when the assailants stormed the school and engaged police officers on duty in a fierce gun battle.

The attackers reportedly scaled the school fence, forced their way into the hostel, killed a staff member, and injured another.

Amina in an inteview with DW said her husband was killed while the family was asleep.
She introduced herself, saying she was the wife of the slain vice principal, and described the attackers.

She explained that she initially thought the noise was from cows entering their farm. She said they were sleeping around 3:30 am when she heard footsteps near the house and school hostel, and woke her husband to alert him about the cows.

In the process, she noticed the door opening and saw armed men in army camouflage uniforms.

“My name is Amina Hassan, wife of vice principal of Government girls comprehensive secondary school Gada, Kebbi State killed by armed bandits.”

“We were sleeping around 3:30 am when I heard the footsteps of the armed men around the house and school hostel and I wake my husband that cows are invading our farms, in the process of waking him up from sleep I heard our door open, I notice it was human being with guns and on Army camouflage uniform.”

The bandits threatened her husband before shooting him.

Hassan said her husband pleaded to be allowed to pray before they executed him, and they permitted him to do so.

“They threatened to kill my husband if he did anything strange. My husband pleaded that they should allow him to pray before they executed him, they allowed him and he was shot after saying his last prayer. When I try to go close to his corps they threatened to kill me too if I dared to go near my husband.”

“Then they asked me to follow them and I refused, I told them after killing my husband they wanted to take me away.”

“I will not follow them, they asked the kids to go inside and lay down. After the whole thing when they left the scene, I attempted to leave the house with the kids. I noticed they were all around the house and the school hostels. They sorrounded the whole place.”

He was shot after saying his final prayer. When she attempted to approach him, the attackers threatened to kill her.

She added that the bandits tried to take her away, but she refused. She told them she would not follow them after they had killed her husband. The attackers instructed the children to go inside and lay down.

After they left, Hassan and the children tried to leave the house, noticing that the bandits had surrounded the residence and school hostels.
Amina identified the attackers as young men in army camouflage uniforms.

Three were inside the hostel while the rest remained outside, and she noted that their voices indicated they could be Fulani.

“They were wearing army camouflage uniforms and they were all young men. Three of them intern at the hostel while the rest were outside the building. And from their voices when I heard them speaking one could indicate they are Fulanis.”

The Christian Association of Nigeria has reiterated that there is a Christian genocide in the country, citing years of unspeakable tragedy, persecution, and insecurity faced by Christians in the country.

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, stated this on Tuesday at the ongoing Fourth Quarterly National Executive Council Meeting of the association in Jos, Plateau State.

He said, “Our presence in Jos today is not accidental. It is intentional, purposeful, and deeply symbolic.”

“We are here as ambassadors of solidarity, compassion, and moral support. We are here to identify with our brothers and sisters across Plateau State and Northern Nigeria who have endured years of unspeakable tragedy—persecution, displacement, devastation, and unrelenting insecurity.

“It would be a grave injustice to deny the painful reality of what has transpired: lives brutally cut short, communities uprooted from their ancestral lands, families torn apart, churches razed, and hopes shattered.”

“CAN has spoken clearly and courageously on this matter, and we stand unwaveringly by our position that there is Christian genocide in Nigeria,” he said.

The CAN expressed the association’s unwavering solidarity with the affected communities across the country.

The CAN president highlighted the plight of displaced Christians, citing a recent visit to Bokkos, where he met with displaced brethren, listened to their stories, prayed with them, and supported them with relief.

“We declare with one united voice: You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Body of Christ stands firmly with you,” Okoh emphasised.

The Christian body called for justice, accountability, and peace, urging the Federal Government and the international community to act decisively to halt the destruction of lives and the displacement of indigenous people, particularly in Christian-dominated communities across Northern Nigeria and the Middle Belt.

The association also appealed to governments to resettle internally displaced persons back to their ancestral homes, warning that prolonged stays in IDP camps could escalate into a more devastating humanitarian crisis.

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who declared the NEC meeting open, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring and sustaining peace across the state.

Represented by his deputy, Josephine Piyo, Mutfwang described the meeting as “symbolic” for Plateau State, which has long been regarded as the “Home of Peace and Tourism”.

Mutfwang equally expressed his administration’s firm commitment to healing divisions, securing rural areas, resettling displaced persons, and restoring dignity and livelihood to affected families.

The governor urged CAN leaders to reflect on how the Church can continue to shape national discourse, strengthen moral values, and foster unity among Nigerians.

“Nigeria needs the Church now more than ever,” Mutfwang emphasised, wishing the delegates fruitful deliberations and impactful resolutions.
