There Is Christian Genocide, Work With Trump To End Killings – PFN To Tinubu

The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to collaborate with U.S President Donald Trump in tackling what he described as the ongoing “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.

Speaking in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday, Oke said the evidence of widespread violence against Christians across Nigeria could no longer be denied.

He cited attacks and abductions in Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Niger, Southern Kaduna, and Ondo States, including the killings of Deborah Samuel and the abduction of Leah Sharibu and the Chibok schoolgirls, as proof of systematic persecution.

“There is a Christian genocide in Nigeria. There’s no other name for it,” he said.

“No Christian group is attacking Muslims. The patience of the church is being stretched.”

Oke praised Trump for previously designating Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over religious violence, noting that the former U.S. president had pledged to confront the situation.

He urged Tinubu not to dismiss Trump’s concerns but to seek his partnership instead.

“President Tinubu should not oppose Trump but rather cooperate with him to eliminate radical groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP,” Oke added.

“Working together will help Nigerians live in peace.”

The PFN leader stressed that the violence was being perpetrated by extremist elements who claim to act in the name of Islam but do not represent the wider Muslim community.

He emphasized that the federal government has a constitutional duty to protect all citizens, regardless of faith.

“Government must act decisively and not politicize the crisis,” he said.

“This administration inherited the problem, but it must now face it squarely.”

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has reportedly begun consultations with religious leaders as part of efforts to address Trump’s recent warnings of possible U.S action against terrorists operating in Nigeria.

Regina Daniels’ Brother Arraigned For Theft, Conspiracy, Assault

Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been charged in court for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police confirmed on Friday.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the case arose from a petition filed with the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, naming Ojeogwu and three others.

“On October 28, 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying,” Adeh said.

She noted that Ojeogwu ignored multiple police invitations before he was eventually arrested in Lagos under a court-issued warrant and transferred to Abuja for investigation.

Following the investigation, Ojeogwu was arraigned in a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025, and charged with the offences.

The court remanded him in custody pending fulfillment of bail conditions, SP Adeh added.

The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.

The case has intensified ongoing family tensions involving Regina Daniels.

In a viral video, the actress was seen breaking down in tears, expressing her distress over her brother’s detention. “I will go back,” she said, lamenting her family’s struggles.

The video came amid reports of marital issues with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she previously accused of domestic violence.

Nwoko denied the allegations, attributing her behaviour to alleged drug and alcohol use, and urged her to undergo rehabilitation.

Amid the family and personal challenges, Regina recently celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, who reunited after years apart, providing a glimmer of hope during a turbulent period for the actress and her family.

INEC Warns Parties, Voters Against Electoral Misconduct Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Anambra Gov’ship Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a strong warning to political parties, candidates, and voters ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State, cautioning against any form of electoral malpractice, violence, or actions that could disrupt public order.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, the commission outlined several prohibited activities at polling units and stressed that offenders would face legal consequences.

INEC reminded all candidates that campaigning or any form of voter persuasion is strictly forbidden on election day.

“No candidate shall canvass for votes, solicit for the vote of any voter, persuade any voter not to vote for a particular candidate, or shout slogans concerning the election,” the statement read.

The commission also warned against intimidation and acts of violence, stating that contestants and their supporters must not carry offensive weapons or wear outfits designed to threaten voters.

“Contestants and their supporters must not be in possession of any offensive weapon or wear any dress or facial decoration calculated to intimidate voters,” INEC said.

Additionally, the electoral body prohibited the display of party symbols, campaign materials, or any partisan identification at polling centres.

“No one is allowed to exhibit, wear, or display any party logo, photograph, or card, or use vehicles branded with party colours or symbols,” the commission added.

INEC further advised voters to maintain peace and leave polling areas once they have cast their ballots.

“No contestant, supporter, or voter should loiter without excuse after voting or after being refused to vote; snatch or destroy any election materials, or blare sirens,” the commission cautioned.

Meanwhile, INEC confirmed that the distribution of both sensitive and non-sensitive materials to all 21 local government areas of Anambra began on Thursday.

The exercise, conducted from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s office in Awka, was carried out under tight security supervision.

Saturday’s governorship election will take place across 5,718 polling units, with 16 political parties on the ballot, including two female candidates.

Over 2.7 million registered voters are expected to participate in the exercise.

US Supreme Court Upholds Trump Administration’s Passport Gender Policy

The United States Supreme Court has upheld the Trump administration’s policy requiring passport applicants to be identified by their biological sex at birth rather than their gender identity.

The decision, announced on Thursday, marks another setback for transgender and nonbinary Americans, as the conservative-leaning court, which includes three justices appointed by former President Donald Trump, continues to shape policies affecting gender rights.

Shortly after returning to office in January, Trump issued an executive order recognizing only two genders, male and female, effectively ending the use of a third “X” gender option on U.S passports.

Under the new directive, the State Department must list each passport holder’s biological sex, “M” for male or “F” for female, as recorded at birth.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit challenging the directive.

A federal district court initially ordered the State Department to resume issuing “X” passports for transgender, nonbinary, and intersex individuals, but the administration appealed the ruling.

After the appeals court declined to overturn the lower court’s decision, the Justice Department took the case to the Supreme Court, requesting an emergency stay.

In a brief unsigned order, the Supreme Court granted the administration’s request, allowing the policy to remain in effect while litigation continues.

“Displaying passport holders’ sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth, in both cases, the Government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment,” the court stated.

The court’s three liberal justices dissented.

The State Department had first introduced the “X” gender marker in October 2021 under President Joe Biden to accommodate individuals who identify as nonbinary, intersex, or gender non-conforming.

Reacting to the ruling, senior ACLU counsel Jon Davidson described the decision as “a heartbreaking setback for the freedom of all people to be themselves.”

“This fuels the Trump administration’s ongoing campaign against transgender Americans and their constitutional rights,” Davidson said, vowing to continue the legal fight.

“We will keep pushing for a future where everyone can determine their own identity.”

In a related move, Trump also reinstated a ban on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. military earlier this year, a policy the Supreme Court permitted to take effect in June while challenges proceed in lower courts.

Bandits Overpower Vigilantes, Kidnap 16 Residents In Zamfara Community

Over 16 residents of Sabo village, Murai ward, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State have reportedly been abducted by armed bandits, DAILY GAZETTE learned.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 6, 2025, amid heightened vigilance by local community vigilantes.

Youths from neighboring Gidan Matan Aure village had mobilized to protect their own settlement, anticipating attacks on nearby communities.

A villager, Muhammad Usman, confirmed that the bandits stormed Sado village without warning, overwhelming the local vigilantes due to their superior numbers. Sado district head, Aliyu Saidu, said:

“The vigilantes did their best to repel the attack, but the bandits overpowered them. So far, 16 people have been kidnapped, including women, children, and the elderly. We are still trying to account for everyone.”

One source, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Sado, shared the personal toll of the raid:

“I received a call about the attack and immediately thought of my friend Nasiru, who had left my shop the previous night. I tried calling him, but there was no response. He and his wife have been taken.”

This marks the second major attack on the community since last year, when bandits abducted the village head, Aliyu Sa’idu, prompting him to relocate temporarily to Morai due to trauma.

Residents are now living in fear, gathering in the village square and anxiously awaiting possible calls from the kidnappers.

Families displaced by the raid are scattered across nearby areas, with many uncertain about the fate of their loved ones.

Umar Rabiu, whose elder brother was among those abducted, appealed to authorities:

“We are urging the government and security forces to intervene and rescue the victims.”

This latest attack comes weeks after bandits abducted six butchers and animal dealers returning from Magajin Maitarko market along Dogon Santsi forest in Gusau Local Government Area.

A relative of the victims, Ishiaku Umar, described the ordeal:

“The bandits blocked the Gusau – Dansadau road on Friday evening. One victim was left behind, and another is now in critical condition. The kidnappers even contacted the victims using their mobile numbers.”

Governor Otti Raises Corps Members’ Allowance To N50,000

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has approved a major upward review of the monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state, increasing it from ₦4,000 to as much as ₦50,000.

According to a statement released on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Njoku Ukoha, the new structure introduces a ₦20,000 base allowance for all corps members posted to Abia.

Those serving in state government establishments will receive an additional ₦10,000, while corps members deployed to teaching and medical roles will earn an extra ₦30,000.

Ukoha explained that the increment is in addition to the recently approved ₦77,000 monthly NYSC allowance from the Federal Government.

The move, he said, reflects Governor Otti’s commitment to youth empowerment and capacity building within key public sectors such as health and education.

“This is the first major adjustment in 27 years, and it underscores the governor’s dedication to strengthening human capital and improving service delivery in Abia,” Ukoha noted.

The governor’s media aide also highlighted ongoing efforts by the administration to enhance the welfare of corps members in the state.

These include renovations at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Bende Local Government Area, upgrades to internal roads, improved power supply, and modernized camp facilities, all despite the camp being federal property.

“Governor Otti believes that any institution or infrastructure within Abia, whether owned by the state or federal government, deserves proper attention because it ultimately benefits Abians,” the statement added.

Otti’s government, Ukoha recalled, has also implemented the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for state and local government health workers, harmonizing their pay with federal standards.

About 35% of the state’s annual budget is currently devoted to the education and healthcare sectors, described by the administration as “pillars of institutional strength and human capital development.”

With the new allowance structure, Abia State now ranks among the top-paying states for NYSC members in Nigeria.

For comparison, DAILY GAZETTE previously reported that Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, in August, raised corps members’ stipends in his state from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.

Governor Otti’s latest policy, according to the statement, aims to make service more rewarding and encourage young professionals to play an active role in Abia’s development.

“Abia is serious about empowering its youth, rewarding excellence, and building a future where service truly counts,” the statement concluded.

Governorship Election: INEC Office Cordoned Off As Ndi Anambra Head To Poll Tomorrow

Heavy security presence has taken over the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.

On Friday morning, hundreds of security personnel, including police officers and soldiers, were deployed around the commission’s office located near Ekwueme Square, Awka.

Several armoured personnel carriers and patrol trucks were stationed at key entry points, effectively sealing off access to the area.

The deployment caused a temporary halt to vehicular movement around Ekwueme Square, forcing motorists and pedestrians to park and walk across restricted routes to reach their destinations.

According to INEC officials, the security clampdown was part of precautionary measures to safeguard the movement of sensitive and non-sensitive election materials and to ensure the safety of electoral staff.

An INEC official who spoke on condition of anonymity explained that the operation was a coordinated effort between the police, army, and other security agencies.

“Soldiers and policemen were drafted to the premises and surrounding areas to prevent any breakdown of law and order. Movement of materials and electoral personnel is still ongoing,” the source said.

The official added that the cordon was also meant to minimize interference from the public and guarantee strict adherence to security protocols outlined in the Electoral Act.

“The INEC office was sealed off to avoid unnecessary distractions and to ensure that only accredited persons have access,” the source added.

INEC has reiterated its readiness for Saturday’s governorship poll, which will hold in 5,718 polling units across the state.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced that about 24,000 ad hoc staff and 540 accredited journalists would be deployed for the election.

Amupitan reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, saying all necessary logistics and security arrangements have been finalized.

A total of 16 candidates representing 16 political parties are contesting in the election, including the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The heightened security around INEC’s office comes amid widespread preparations across Anambra, with residents making last-minute purchases and movements before the restriction of movement expected on election day.

Rob Jetten Wins Dutch Election, Set To Become Youngest PM

The Dutch Electoral Council has officially declared Rob Jetten, leader of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, the winner of last week’s election, positioning the 38-year-old centrist to become the Netherlands’ youngest-ever prime minister.

Jetten narrowly defeated anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders by just 29,668 votes in an election widely seen as a test for the rise of Europe’s far-right movements.

“We’ve shown that populist movements can be beaten with a positive campaign for the country,” Jetten told AFP.

Before assuming office, Jetten must form a coalition, a process that could take months.

The Dutch political system ensures no single party controls parliament, meaning compromise among multiple parties is essential.

Election Results at a Glance

  • D66: 26 seats (lowest-ever number for an election winner)
  • PVV (Wilders): 26 seats
  • CDA (centre-right): 18 seats
  • VVD (right-wing liberal): 22 seats
  • Green/Labour: 20 seats
  • Other parties, including animal rights and over-50 groups, also won seats

Despite losing 11 seats from his previous shock victory in 2023, Wilders’ PVV remains influential.

The far-right Forum for Democracy increased its seats from 3 to 7, while JA21 grew from 1 to 9.

Jetten prefers a four-party coalition with the CDA, VVD, and Green/Labour, which would give a stable majority of 86 seats.

However, VVD leader Dilan Yesilgoz has ruled out partnering with the Green/Labour bloc.

Other coalition options include a right-wing alliance with CDA, JA21, and D66, which would yield 75 seats but could be unstable, or a minority coalition, though Jetten has rejected this approach.

To explore possible alliances, Jetten has appointed Wouter Koolmees, head of the national rail company, as a “scout” to negotiate between parties.

A progress report is expected on Tuesday.

Wilders has conceded defeat but has posted unverified claims of voting irregularities on social media.

The Electoral Council, however, confirmed the election was conducted fairly, noting a reduction in counting errors to about 8,000 compared with 14,000 in 2021.

The snap election was triggered by Wilders pulling his PVV party from negotiations, citing slow progress toward implementing his proposed “strictest immigration policy ever.”

Police Bust Cameroonian Kidnap Syndicate Posing As Visa Agents

The Ogun State Police Command has announced the dismantling of a notorious syndicate of Cameroonian nationals involved in kidnapping victims under the guise of visa processing.

Command Spokesperson Omolola Odutola revealed that two suspects were arrested during a raid on their hideout in Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, while the gang leader remains at large.

The operation followed a distress call from Kengne Maeva, a Cameroonian woman who was lured into Nigeria on 29 September 2025 by a man named Donald, who promised to secure a Canadian visa for her.

Instead, Maeva and her younger sister were held hostage in a two-bedroom flat in Pakuro, Ogun State.

Maeva managed to escape captivity on 3 November 2025 and alerted the police, revealing that other victims were also being held. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of suspects Ndzana Kamga Isidore and Tingue Stephen.

The police confirmed that the victims’ families in Cameroon had paid a ransom of 3.6 million CFA francs into the fleeing suspect’s bank account.

“Upon arrival at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, the victims were received by the fake agency, which transported them to Mowe, Ogun State, where they were held,” Odutola explained.

Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed enhanced surveillance of similar criminal activities across the state and instructed tactical commanders to work closely with community leaders, particularly in remote areas, to monitor suspicious foreign nationals renting properties.

Police Clarify Arrest Of Regina Daniels’ Brother

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has addressed the recent arrest and remand of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, who is the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos last week and subsequently transferred to Abuja for further investigation.

The actress, whose marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko has been in the public spotlight, had raised concerns about her brother’s arrest, alleging that the police were biased in favor of her estranged husband.

However, SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, stated on Friday that the arrest was lawful and conducted following due process.

According to her, multiple invitations for questioning were sent to Ojeogwu, which he failed to honor, prompting the issuance of a court-sanctioned arrest warrant.

Adeh explained that the case stems from a petition submitted on 28 October 2025 against Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.

Investigations have since been concluded, and Ojeogwu was charged in court on 6 November 2025. He was remanded pending fulfillment of bail conditions.

“The command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and upholding the rule of law,” Adeh emphasized.

Meanwhile, Senator Ned Nwoko, Daniels’ estranged husband, has not publicly commented on the arrest.
