President Bola Tinubu has honoured Nigeria’s Super Falcons and their technical crew following their impressive performance on the international stage.

The recognition includes national honours, monetary awards, and housing allocations.

During a reception held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award on all 24 players and the 11-man technical team.

“I hereby conferred on the players, the 11-man technical team with national honours of the Officer of the Order of the Niger,” the President announced during the event.

Beyond the national recognition, the President also announced a housing benefit and substantial cash rewards.

“Additionally, I have directed the allocation of three-bedroom apartments in the Renewed Hope Housing Scheme.
Then there is the cash award of the naira equivalent of $100,000 US dollars each [to] 24 players and the naira equivalent of $50,000 to the 11-man technical crew,” Tinubu said.

Each member of the Super Falcons and their coaching staff will receive a three-bedroom apartment located at the Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja.

The President’s gesture is a continuation of his administration’s commitment to sports development and recognition of national heroes.

In further appreciation, the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), represented by its chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, presented ₦10 million to each player and crew member as part of the celebration.

The honours come on the heels of the Super Falcons’ outstanding display at the recent international tournament, where their performance was widely praised both at home and abroad.
