Fenerbahce have officially parted ways with Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese manager who joined the Turkish giants in June 2024.
The decision comes just 48 hours after the club’s disappointing exit from the UEFA Champions League playoff round at the hands of Benfica.
In a brief statement released on Friday, the Istanbul-based club confirmed the termination of Mourinho’s contract:
“We are parting ways with Jose Mourinho, manager of our professional A team since the 2024-2025 season.”
Mourinho, a high-profile appointment, had been brought in to elevate Fenerbahce’s European ambitions. However, the early elimination from continental competition appears to have sealed his fate.
