The Yobe State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with the killing of two police officers in Kolere village, Fune Local Government Area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Abdu Abubakar Ozo, disclosed this while speaking to journalists after a State Security Council meeting presided over by Deputy Governor Idi Barde Guban.
According to reports, the slain officers, both Deputy Superintendents of Police, were overpowered by a group of high-profile gang leaders while attempting to arrest them in Fune LGA.
DCP Ozo confirmed that those arrested have links to the attack and are currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further interrogation.
He added that the command has intensified its search for other suspects involved in the killing, assuring that all perpetrators will be brought to justice.
